On this page you will find a daily update (also emailed to you), a weekly plan and links to the resources you will need to support you and your child with their remote education. All resources have been sent to you by email and Class Dojo.

Please see below the remote learning support for Monday 18th January. As you will see the day is split into live teaching via Zoom and independent tasks. Please click the Zoom link at the specified times to take part in the live teaching. Attached to this email are any supporting resources your child might like to use.

This session is expected to last around 30 minutes. Your child can then do the independent tasks.

LO: to use adjectives in a sentence.

Success Criteria: to use capital letter, full stops and finger spaces. To use adjectives to describe.

For the independent task the children will be writing sentences to describe their own magic tree. They can draw a picture of their magic tree and then describe it, writing about what the magic tree grows and what it looks like.

The attached resource to help your child with this lesson is the English PowerPoint. For this lesson your child will need paper and a pencil.

Maths

This session will be taught through an online video and worksheet.

LO: to count on

Success Criteria: to be able to hold one number in their head and count on.

You will be sent a link of a video teaching the maths content for that day, which will include mini tasks which you can engage in by pausing the video and answering the questions.

The independent work the children can do is the Maths Worksheet which they can print and work on or the children can look at on the computer and copy their answers into their books.

There will also be extension questions if your children would like some more work to complete. Likewise these sheets can be printed and filled in or the children can look at on the computer and copy their answers into their books.

The attached resource to help your child with this lesson is the Extension Questions and the Maths Worksheet. For this lesson your child will need a pencil and paper.

This session is expected to last around 30 minutes. Your child can then do the independent tasks.

LO: to write words where ‘mb’ a make ‘m’ sound

Success Criteria: to be able to read and write some words where ‘mb’ makes an ‘m’ sound.

During this Zoom session the children will be writing words and reading them and they will need paper and a pencil.

For the independent task the children should write a story about a climbing lamb including as many ‘mb’ words as possible.

You can read any books you have at home with the children and talk about them and can use the link below for books online.

This session is expected to last around 20 minutes. Your child can then do the independent tasks.

LO: to use different surfaces to make art

Success Criteria: to use a range of different surfaces for the rubbings and to use a range of different colours.

During the Zoom the children will be learning about tree rubbings and talking about different surfaces that can be used. For the children’s independent task the children can go outside and using some of the different surface we talked about or their own, make some tree rubbings. These can be done with coloured pencils which will be in your learning packs or with crayons or chalk if you have them at home.

The attached resource to help your child with this lesson is the Art PowerPoint. For this lesson your child will need paper and coloured pencils or crayons or chalk.

This is a drop in session for children if they want to share anything or if they have any questions about any learning that day.
